June 2007

Last Monday – on June 18th, we became home owners again.

Next Monday, on July 2nd, I am flying to Costa Rica. AIM asked me to be the project manager for a

short term ministry team that is scheduled to go to Las Juntas de Avangares, Costa Rica. The short term ministry team from a Destin, Florida United Methodist Church includes 13 college age young people and the couple who are this church’s youth pastors. They will arrive in Costa Rica on July 4th. I am leaving for Costa Rica two days before the team to do setup. We are scheduled to return to the U.S on July 12th . Some of the ministry activities that this team is going to be involved include prayer walks, open air children’s activities and meetings, evangelistic outreaches, sports and painting church rooms. Las Juntas de Avangares on the map to the left is located right under the v of Monteverde. Monteverde is located on the Pacific Ocean side – near the Gulf of Nicoya.

Thank you very much for your prayers for Don and Connie. In only about two months, about 47% of the amount that AIM has budgeted for them to raise as their monthly support has been pledged. Even though Don and Connie have not yet been able to go on salary with AIM, they have been able the past couple of weeks to observe the training that AIM does for their Ambassador program. Don will begin as AIM’s Ambassador program director just as soon as he is able to go on salary with AIM – which is when he and Connie have their budgeted monthly support pledged. If you would like to help Don and Connie with a monthly pledge, please use the new mailing address where AIM would like donations sent to which is:

Adventures In Missions, Inc.
P.O. Box 534470
Atlanta, GA 30353-4470
(please include a note stating that your gift is for Don and Connie Rock)

If you would like to help us with a special gift or if you would like to begin to support us monthly, please use the above address as well. Thank you.

We are enjoying getting to know the September 2007 World Race participants. While we were in Delaware earlier this month, we met up with two of the young ladies – Traci and Sarah, who are planning to go on the upcoming September 2007 World Race. Sarah – who is standing next to Nancy, grew up and lives within blocks of where Nancy once lived in Wilmington, Delaware with her parents. If you would like to know more about the upcoming World Race or if you would like to track the two World Races that are ongoing, go to AIM’s website which is: www.adventures.org

We continue to be very grateful for your prayers. This past week was exhausting. We moved not only our stuff from the apartment where we were living, we moved Don and Connie’s things to our place from the storage area where they had their things stored. Thank you again for everything! We are very grateful for your desire to partner with us through your prayers, thoughts, and support.

Sincerely,

Gary and Nancy Lengkeek
