April 2009

Greetings! Thank you again for partnering with us through praying for us and through supporting us. We’ll always be very grateful for the genuine interest that you have had in our lives. We continue to have much to be thankful. We are enjoying another colorful Georgia springtime. Our health has remained good. Opportunities are continuing to come our way to be a resource for young people desiring a missionary experience. One way of being a resource has been through AIM’s training venues. We both are going to lead sessions during the upcoming training that is scheduled in about three weeks.

Another way that we have been able to be a resource for young people has been through coaching and through leading short term ministry teams. The one month Ambassador team trip to Guatemala that I was asked to lead has 11 young people accepted to go on it. A ComLife participant – Maggie, and a September 2007 World Race participant – Lindsey, are going with this Ambassador team to Guatemala to help me lead the team.

The upcoming Ambassador team trip to Guatemala is to begin on June 19 with four days of training here in Gainesville. Once we are in Guatemala, we will go to San Juan de la Laguna. Connie is going to lead a two week Ambassador team trip which will be in San Pedro at the same time that I’ll be in San Juan de la Laguna. In their most recent prayer/news letter, Hector and Patty wrote about a PEB that they are going to begin in San Pablo. Antonio Moxney – a San Pedro PEB graduate, has been the one who has been primarily responsible for getting this PEB started. I am looking forward to spending time with some of the San Pedro PEB graduates as well as meeting the men who have committed to study in the San Pablo PEB. While I am with AIM’s Ambassador team in the Lake Atitlan area, I am hoping that we will have the opportunity to visit and to do children’s programs in communities on or near Lake Atitlan where I know the church leaders.

During the recent wedding of two of the September 2007 World Race participants, we were able to reconnect with 20 of the 27 who made up this squad who traveled together for eleven months. Because they were involved in short term missions in countries outside the U.S., three of the World Race participants could not make it to Danny and Colleen’s wedding. Another World Race participant had been asked to help with the training here in Gainesville for the next World Race squad that was scheduled at the same time of the wedding. We have really enjoyed our squad.

Thank you again for everything that you have done for us. We continue to hope that we will be able to block off some time soon to personally thank you for your friendship, prayers and generosity. Please continue to pray that our health will remain good and that our energy level will be there to do what we are being asked to do. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Gary and Nancy
